Son Tran is a Partner at VCI Legal with more than two decades of experience in corporate law, M&A, foreign investment, compliance, competition, employment, real estate, and in-house legal management in Vietnam.

Prior to joining VCI Legal, Son Tran held senior legal and compliance positions at leading multinational and domestic corporations, including Unilever Vietnam, PepsiCo, Heineken Vietnam, Indochina Capital, Novaland, Samsung Vina Electronics, and TTC Group. His long-standing in-house leadership background gives him a practical understanding of how legal, compliance, governance, regulatory, and commercial issues are handled inside major FDI and Vietnamese corporate groups.

Son Tran has advised on a broad range of matters involving corporate transactions, investment structuring, M&A, regulatory compliance, competition law, employment, tax, real estate, consumer goods, technology, fintech, and data privacy. His experience includes advising on major M&A and divestment transactions, foreign investment projects, corporate governance frameworks, internal compliance systems, and legal risk management for businesses operating in highly regulated sectors.

Son Tran has also been recognized by The Legal 500 GC Powerlist as a leading in-house counsel in Southeast Asia and Vietnam. Before returning to private practice, he served as Chief Legal Officer of TTC Group and previously as General Counsel and Head of Legal and Compliance at Samsung Vina Electronics, where he was involved in significant technology, compliance, data privacy, and fintech-related matters.
