Mr. Son has worked for several major foreign law firms in Vietnam, such as Phillips Fox (now Allens Arthur & Robinson) and Indochina Legal. Prior to joining VCI Legal, he was the Head of the Legal Department at the South East Asia Bank (SeABank). With over 15 years of experience, Son now represents clients on a wide range of practice areas including banking and finance, investment, corporate, M&A, and securities, tax as well as land and real estate. His scope of expertise covers issues related to compliance, due diligence, management of debt collection, corporate governance, restructuring, private equity and banks’ right and interest protection.

Mr. Son has obtained an LLM at the University of Queensland and a PhD in law at Monash University in Australia. Besides, he has attended several training courses in Vietnam and overseas, including “Advanced Loan Documentation” (by Euromoney – Singapore 2009), “Legal Derivatives School” (by Euromoney – Hong Kong 2011), and “Key operational aspects of the management of a commercial bank” (by ATTF – Luxembourg 2011). Son is a member of several associations including Australasian Forum for International Arbitration (AFIA), Pacific International Arbitration Centre (PIAC), and Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC).
