VCI LEGAL’S PARTNER, KENT WONG PUBLISHED THE CHAPTER “THE ROLE OF VIETNAM IN GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAINS” IN “GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAINS IN A GLOCAL WORLD – THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 AND DIGITALISATION”
Kent Wong, Partner and Head of Banking & Capital Markets at VCI Legal, has published the chapter “The role of Vietnam in global supply chains” in the book “Global Supply Chains in a Glocal World – The Impact of Covid-19 and Digitalization”, regarding the potential opportunities for investment in Vietnam in the supply chain sector, digitalization in Vietnam, the methods of market entry into Vietnam, and the pros and cons of each approach.
“Global Supply Chains in a Glocal World”, edited by Dr. Puay Guan Goh (National University of Singapore, Singapore) and Dr. Mabel C Chou (National University of Singapore, Singapore), aims to answer these mission-critical questions via a series of articles contributed by academics and senior management covering different industry sectors such as healthcare, food, e-commerce, textiles, mobility, and FMCG, as well as geographical, risk management, and technological perspectives. Proffering varied views of what has happened during Covid-19 and what it means for the future, this book provides academics and practitioners a valuable resource when they navigate their next steps in an increasingly turbulent world.
In Chapter 2, “The Role of Vietnam in Global Supply Chains”, Kent Wong covers how Vietnam has become an alternative site for manufacturing, and the regulatory, technological, and economic changes that have made it attractive for not just manufacturing, but start-ups and technological innovation.
