He is also Co-Founder and Financial Advisor of AgroMonitor, a leading company in agricultural sector information and marketing research in Vietnam.
Dr. Chí was recently Senior Economic and Financial Advisor of the USAID/STAR Program, providing economic and financial consulting to various ministries and institutions in Vietnam.
He was Deputy Managing Director and Chief Economist at VinaCapital, a major investment banking firm in Vietnam.
Before that, he had been Senior International Banking Advisor, managing the bank restructuring program in Laos and conducting a major shake-up of the External Trade Bank (BCEL), the largest commercial bank in Vientiane which turned from a sizable loss to a highly profitable commercial bank within 2 years of restructuring.
He had been Senior Investment Officer and Senior Economist for several years at the International Monetary Fund (Washington, D.C.); IMF Resident Representative in Togo and Laos; and Visiting Associate Professor, MBA Program, at American University.
He graduated with a B.S. in Economics from Laval University (Canada), and M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (USA).
